I am not a great writer... I wish I was, it is obvious by my posts maybe someday i'll be better..... I am a very good trainer and very observant so just let me say this, we have the best trainers and coaches around and that makes me so very happy. CrossFit Uvalde also has some amazing athletes. In comparison, it is amazing to me what I witness on a day to day basis. You have to wonder what people are thinking when they approach your athletes, grope their muscles, amazed at the difference in the body composition, ask what they are doing, then totally disconnect when they are told. I guess that's the difference in 39.95 gyms and CrossFit.
At CrossFit you get coached and taught and educated. If you don't show up it doesn't just hurt you....it hurts the community. At CrossFit you are a person and your results matter. However, it isn't for eveyone and those 39.95 people will never get it even when it's in their face, when they can touch it. It is UNBELIEVABLE and it is tragic from a fitness perspective. It is great for us though and one of these days maybe we can break through the paradigm and resue a few of these individuals.
I am not trying to be harsh, just realistic. I guess most people are looking for a magic pill. I wish I had one, I would sell it to you and we would both be happy. However, to get the results you see it takes committment, dedication, and hard work. You have to know pain in order to know gain and most of that is a mental game. There is also a programming element,, you have to train smarter not harder.
It is because of our base that we are doing this everyday. Those people who have come to understand that they have to do their part in order to be successful. Those who are willing to be responsible for themselves and not look for the magic bullet. Those who enjoy the pursuit of fitness. We will continue to have the the best coaches and the best all around athletes. And I will continue to be amazed everyday at the overall disconnect.
On another note....HAPPY B-DAY Colin. 1 year old today.
Like the quote of the day.
Crossfit is in a league of its own.
