I freakin hate it when people pull out into the middle lane to merge with traffic. It is a nice bailout if you misjudge an oncoming car but it isn't for turning into. I am suprised that there are so many terrible drivers out there. I used to get mad when I would see the police out feeding on the lowly commoners, but I am starting see it as a get what you deserve situation. If you drive in the middle lane you are a loser!
It took me awhile to really start vocalizing my disgust and frustration with the direction our country is headed, but I have shaken the fear off. I suggest you do the same. You better start saying no, and having a clear idea of what is right and wrong. You better come to understand that you have no future with the current trends.
Time to grow a spine and focus on real issues.
I went to a Burger King yesterday. I know, before you criticise me for eating there, which I would do to you, I didn't actually eat there. I was going to but something happened while I was ordering my food that really disturbs me. The bad thing and the sad thing, and possibly the most disgusting thing is this: I ordered a number 2 value meal, it is a burger of some sort and a medium order of fries and a medium order drink, right. Well, surprise to me the value meals don't come with medium drinks anymore. It used to be that if you wanted a large you would add a dollar and get a size larger fries and drink. WEll, now you have to get a medium size or a large size, each of course costing more money. The original order was almost $15 for two meals, which is a big rip off, but if you are hungry and in a rush, I guess you can pay for some convenience. But when that lady put those two small drinks on the counter and I asked her what they were for her answer was that was the size that came with the meal. I called bullshit,, I said it has always been a medium and I was not paying $15 for small items. The lady then went on to say that it has ALWAYS been that way. I said no it hasn't and I wasn't going to eat their crap for that price. So we left and went to a deli, it is a secret, and had a pound of grilled sausage and a pound of picadillo and 2 large teas for under $10.
It was very surreal, we have never been at war with east asia, we have always been at war with east asia. Screw you Burger King and screw any other business that try and manipulate and take advantage of anyone. Your food is shit and poison and I am glad that you tried to steal from me so I didn't eat any of.
I always have goals and so should you. However, you should think long and hard about your goals. Where do you see yourself in 10 years. I bet your idea is different than the current trend is dictating, so consider your goals. I guess I am feeling a little sorry for you and giving you a cryptic warning. I will spare you the details and let you find your own way. My expectations are way to high for most to reach anyways. Remember goals are important and you should be considering what yours are and how they are going to measure up in the future.Good luck!
No doubt there are trolls on the internet that leave comments on people's websites that are negative or critical in scope. No doubt it is common. However, how do you explain a comment posted by a person who normally enjoys your material but happens to question a particular thing that appears on your website? How is it that so many people are beyond criticism these days that anything that is posted to contradict a blog or a photo becomes a troll. Are we really so insecure? I posted a comment to the CF Football site yesterday criticizing a squat technique that appears ridiculous to me.
In response, I was labeled a troll. It doesn't hurt my feelings and I am sure I will be able to move forward with my life. Now I haven't posted on the site in months, but I am far from a troll. I have been doing CF for 5 years, have owned an affiliate, and have taught hundreds of people the CF method. There are a dozen or so trainers that can trace their introduction to CF back to me and my efforts and there are a couple of bastardised gyms in Uvalde that call themselves CF but fall far short of the standards that I would hold for a CF gym. But I digress. The reason I was critical of the posted photo on the site was that the guy in the photo wasn't going below parallel with his squat. To me the below parallel squat is a staple in any program and no matter what you are trying to do if you are not able to get your hip below your knee then it isn't a CF squat. It may be something else and it is possible that the technique and/or requirements for a squat have changed, so if that is the case I apologize.
I do agree that being able to hold a significant amount of weight on your back is impressive and would make a lesser amount of weight seem relatively lite by comparisson. Example: holding 500lbs on your shoulders and doing a little dip would make a 225lb squat seem insignificant, I think. But it isn't a squat and I have spent my entire athletic career teaching and chastising that unless you go below parallel your are missing the big picture.
I learned the Mark Rippetoe Starting Strength method and he explains the need for a squat rack and how that device allows for you to safely work with loads at or in excess of your max. The point for me is this, I would rather squat with 350lbs below parallel unassisted and work to a 400lb squat, as opposed to holding a 700lb bar on my back and have some guy wrap his arms around my chest and have four other guys ready to catch the bar to "help" me because I am in a dangerous and suspect position and to top it off I fail to break the parallel line after all that effort. Then to engage in a circle jerk afterward like something was accomplished. In contrast to the photo that disturbs me so, a few days earlier there was a pic of a girl doing a squat and the depth is nice a full, no doubt below parallel. there is still a spotter in a suspect position but at least the form is good and the definition of a CF squat is met.
There may be a move away from the low squat but for me and my house we will squat low. Thank you Coach Rippetoe for teaching good fundamentals I appreciate it.

It has been a few months since I did a the last post. Time certainly does fly, but isn't it funny how so many things stay the same. The world is an amazing place and there are certainly times that I want to communicate important things to you. Alas, I fear that I would be wasting my time. I am amazed and fearful at the same time at the stuff you will put up with.
Anyways enjoy the world you are creating around you. Maybe I will post some of my insights and share with you and maybe not. I guess it just depends on how bored I get.
Funny what things are coming to, isn't it?
Do max reps with 125lbs, but you have to get at least 5. Real squats please no bodybuilding squats. If you want to know what a true squat is just watch the video again. Great job Avie!
Of course you know what that means. It is the magical time of year when lots and lots of people will be out doing these all promising fitness programs, whether its a bootcamp class or a wanna be crossfit class. Unfortunately, the future has become to easy to predict. The reason these programs seem to be so hard is because the people doing them are weak, sick, or fat, but more than likely it is a combination of all three. If you have a crappy lifestyle then of course walking around the track and doing some half squats is going to seem hard. It will be fun to watch for a month until everyone gets frustrated and gives up. Until then you should be asking yourself how you got to the point your at to begin with and then maybe you can change the things you need to change to have a truly heathly life.
